Each student is guaranteed a substantive, eight-hour-per-week paid internship in a museum (usually WCMA, the Clark, or MASS MoCA) or the Chapin Library. Many of these involve important work on exhibition projects, including student-organized exhibitions that have in some instances received wide recognition. Students may also serve as research assistants in the Clark’s Research and Academic Program. In addition, students may seek internships in other divisions at partner museums, from the education division to the director’s office. Students in their second year sometimes seek teaching assistantships in the undergraduate curriculum.
