The Research and Academic Program at the Clark Art Institute presents “Ecologies, Agents, Terrains,” a Clark Conference.
What is the place of art and its histories in a time of ecological crisis? This conference will bring together art historians, artists, and thinkers in related disciplines to consider how art and its histories can contribute to broader discourses within the environmental humanities, with particular reference to aesthetics, activism, social justice, and subjectivity. We hope to think rigorously and creatively together about theory, history, practice, and objects.
