Hybrid Practice Series: Caroline Woolard

Hybrid Practice Series: Caroline Woolard

Artist Caroline Woolard’s performative talk should be very engaging (and even surprising!). In particular, she will highlight the role of infrastructure– or organizational systems–in the life cycle of artistic projects. This idea is a critical part of her own transdisciplinary, feminist practice and central to how her practice seeks to challenge existing power structures such as real estate, capitalism, and higher education and to foster social and economic justice. She will share how considerations of how materials are sourced, how the labor for producing a project is organized, how tools are accessed, how an artwork is supported, copyrighted, narrated, encountered, and acquired all contribute to her the objects and systems she creates.
